About the Chapel
In 1940, construction began on the ruins of an ancient monastery. In 1975, the sanctuary was completed.
It is dedicated to Panagia the Iamatiki (She who heals), but became known as the chapel of Panagia Samatziotissa due to its location in ‘Samatzia’ near the Forrest Park Hotel.
Services are held in the chapel on Shrove Tuesday and August 31.
